Windswept mainly breeds to add a line or something special into our own program.  Although we strive to only produce the best quality, not all litters will turn out the way we had hoped.  While most litters give us several exceptional kittens to choose from for our program, which in turn gives others the opportunity to get an outstanding kitten to add to their family.  Since we want the best for our babies we try to keep our prices low as spay or neutered pets, our preferences are for our beloved spoiled kittens to get loving pets homes, although some exceptions are made to a selective Breeders.

One of our main goals is to produce wonderful dog like personalities.  It has come to our attention that most people who get one of our kitten are not use to the type of personalities that most of our kittens have, with a few being know as "extreme personalities".  These kittens are usually not your typical independent cat, they are very active in their families.  While not hyper or wall climbers they do want to be included in the happenings of the home.  Since our kittens are well socialized before they leave and have had the opportunity to become a part of our family most are well adjusted.  Although, we have noticed that a very small percentage of our males tend to be hands-off and unsociable from birth up until the ages of 4-6 months then become very very lovable.  We always inform potential new families of what personality we have found in the kitten they are interested in.  While we can in no way guarantee the personality of the kitten once it has left our home, we try our best to match the right kitten to the right home.

All kittens are here until they are at least 12 weeks old.  We like to know that they are eating solid dry food well and gaining weight, as well as, using the litter box faithfully.  Our kittens get their first shots at 12 weeks old per the American Academy of Feline Practitioner's (AAFP)  protocols/recommendations.  All kittens are wormed with Panacure or Drontal wormer.

Kittens can be shipped world wide.  Effective 2012 increase to shipping charges due to increase of costs to flights and fuel charges. We charge $300.00 shipping charge for kittens with in the United States, this includes, crate, health certificate and airline flight with Continental Airlines.  For adults we charge $350.00 for shipment with in the United States, this includes crate, health certificate, rabies shot and airline flight with Continental Airlines.  For International shipments cost increase since we use AARK Air International, Inc. or All Pet Travel.  International shipments will be quoted when a kitten/cat is sold and arrangements are needed.

Boom-Boom & Moon continue to be the loves of my life.  Moon's about 20 lbs now & Boom Boom is ~14-15.  I actually put my back out last week picking Moon up!  Just a few days worth of discomfort but taught me a lesson re: making sure I'm using A+ body mechanics when trying to hoist this 'heavy as a brick' boy :-)!

I was checking out your site today & enjoyed all the pictures.  I noticed 'Stomper' in your slide show and wondered if any of your current cats have him in their pedigree?  He really has a look that I love.  If and when I ever do get an opportunity to add another Highland Lynx to my family, one w/ his looks would be a treasure.

Thanks again for these 2 angels.  They are my ultimate joy.

Hello, Rose - just to let you know that Emma Lee is growing and doing > fine. She has answered to her name right from the beginning-comes when > you call her (better than a dog). She is learning to fetch when her favorite green dinosauer in thrown. She will eat anything we put in our mouth, so have to be careful and not give her something bad. She now weighs almost 6 lbs. I feed her a grain free dry cat food, and 1/4 of a tiny can of moist cat food which she loves. If she doesn't get her moist food right away in the morning, she become VERY vocal. She rides well in the car but does not like certain songs, so we are now turning off the radio. We fitted her for a harness and leash and she took right to it; we put it on and away we went with her in the lead. She met our other 3 cats, and she and the 15 yr. old cat sniffed each other, made friends without any hissing or spitting. Our young Maine Coon mix cat (2 yrs old) was very playful with her at first. They would run and chase each other through the house. Then about a week ago he started to snarl and hiss at her, so he has become an outdoor cat for good. Emma has gone to the vet for her shots, and will get the rabies booster when we get home next Wed. as we are at our house in NV right now. She is a VERY GOOD kitten; doesn't scratch the furniture, but loves to be up on the kitchen counters when I am cooking; she just watches. She really likes me, but I do my best to redirect her to Doug. She does not like to be held, but will sleep next to me in bed, or on the floor next to my side of the bed at night. Sometimes she will get up in our laps. She is busy and plays with all of her toys and cat tree, uses her scratching post, and likes really cold water to drink. Her favorite places to sleep are up on the TV cabinet, in a sunny window in our dining room, or under our bed.

I will send some pictures when I "dump" my camera. There is a really cute one of her in the wild flowers up in the Sawtooth Mtns. of Stanley, ID. Hope her siblings are doing as well as Emma. We sure do love her. The ladies that own the store where I buy her food and got her harness are totally enamoured with her and tell everyone about her when I am in the store. All my neighbors have come over to our house to see her, and they just cannot get over her cute face. She is such a doll. Something we discovered is that due to her whiskers being so short and curled, she does not have a clue if something is too small to crawl into. She got stuck in one of our recliners when she crawled into it. She was not hurt but very bewildered about what happened. Maybe this is something to let buyers know about, as regular cats have big whiskers that are "feelers" for tight spots. Anyhow, we are really enjoying her and watching her grow.

Take care. Sincerely - Kathryn and Doug Freeborg

Dear Stacy,

Please forgive my tardiness in updating you about Dots & Skittles. Dots has grown into quite the beautiful young lady. She's now about 13inches nose to tail and weighs about 15 pounds.  About two months ago she began to meow!  Every morning she does her nails on the scratching pad.  Then come over and gives me a bink on my nose with her cool wet one and stretches her neck up for her fur kisses. She loves to hang out with her head "lost" in our two six foot bamboo plants until someone walks by and she'll give her soft meow. She's very healthy & a good eater but recently has lost her interest in all snacks except her nightly cat milk.  It has been hot here & this may have something to do with it. I was reading your thing about Bobcat crosss breeding & It is a strange thing but Dots looks & acts just like a minature Bobcat - the way she stalks her brother and pounces & lays on her back attacking your ankles as you walk by.  She's grow-up to be such a sweetheart.

Little Skittles is a big boy now - 27 inches nose to tail & almost 20 pounds of solid muscle ripplinig cat.  He's very statueque. He's very powerful in all cat ways & he knows it!   We've gone around more than once, he & I eastablishing just who's on the top of the heap. But his basic personality is wonderful & life in this wacky house is very pleasant. The odd thing about him is his uncanny resembelance to a Lynx.  He has that pensive, almost worried countanence.  & we he's playing with his sister, he crouches along the shadows of furniture & ambushes her as she comes around it - just like a lynx would hunt a hair in the wild. But he rrally loves her.  Whenever she's e e afraid like in bad whether, it's not usual to find them in the living room recliner with her snuggled next to him & his great big paw around her reassuring her that all is well - he will look after her. He's quite a cat. This has been a tough year for me.  I've been in the hospital a total of two months. And even tough I had friend checking them they were alone for long stretches of time  It was hard on Dots who not outgoing with strangers tat would stop in.  Whereas Skittles is a regular ambassador! I think he really pulled his sister through.

Stacy, my two cats are wonderful - they are smart, loyal, compassionate companions.  Through circumstances beyond my control they are my family now -- and i'm well serverd. You did a terrific job with them & you can be very proud of these two Windswept alumni.  Rest assured you have placed them in a loving home. I have few computer skills so I can't send you any pictures but if I can get some prints, I well snail mail them to you.

BTW- I would be happy to talk to anyone as a reference for Windswept Cats should ever need someone.

Best regards,

Rogerr Hunsberge
